A Serious Ham
CAUGHT IN THE WHIRLWIND OF THAT WHO SEEMS LIKE THE MOST HORRIBLE BUTCHER TO EVER LIVE, YOU WAKE UP WITH YOUR HEAD SPINNING. WHETHER IT'S FOR SURVIVAL OR JUST TO PROVE YOURSELF TO BE SOME PIG, YOU PLAN YOUR TURBULENT ESCAPE FROM THE SLAUGHTERHOUSE.
DISCLAIMER
though the game is short, it's also quite difficult--especially the last couple screens. i didn't have too much time to polish and adjust them. if you're not into difficult platformers, perhaps save yourself the stress.
CONTROLS
ARROW KEYS/WASD - move
UP/Z/J - jump (hold to increase height)
DOWN - duck
DOUBLE TAP FORWARD - dash
HOLD JUMP IN MID AIR - spin flutter
HOLD DOWN - fall through semi-solid platforms
ADVANCED TECHNIQUES
- You can flutter an unlimited number of times in the air to stall. Don't forget!
- Dash and then immediately crouch to increase your momentum (wavedashing)
- Quickly dash, crouch, then jump to go even farther and increase your jump height
- Chain these techniques to build up momentum
- Wavedash off a ledge and immediately spin flutter to preserve lots of momentum
PIGLETS
There are piglets to save as a side objective to your escape. Some of them are difficult to find, some are difficult to reach. If you find them all, please leave a comment and tell me if it was agony or not. I'd really like to know. There are 10 total, or... 11...?
MISCELLANEOUS
- Second run - After beating the game, press R to go back to the beginning, now with a timer in the corner. You also keep your piglets, so you can go back to get only the ones you missed.
- Timer - Press T to toggle showing your run timer at any time.
- Unstuck - If you get stuck, hold R for 2 seconds to respawn.
CREDITS
i am a solo developer, all assets are made by me—animation, music, programming, levels,etc—outside of a few sound effects from various sources i modified. i made this over the span of a few days and am fairly happy with the results, although if i had more time i think i would try to tweak the balancing a bit more and make some of the level design less harsh. or i would just keep adding random mechanics until i run out of time again. thank you for playing
